Police boat code
Thames Rib Carter have several boats on fleet coded to the ACPO designated Police boat code and we work with police forces all around the country. Our boats are used to supplement established marine units for both short and long term contracts. Typically charter is linked to major national events where extra resources are required or where Police vessels are unserviceable.
Both our open Ribs and Cabin Ribs are police boat coded. Boats have permanent mounting for class 2 blue strobe lights that we fit for police charters and we also apply all of the correct decals, reflective patches and crests appropriate to force area.
We are proud to have worked with the Thames River Police for many years. Our first charter was in 1998. Thames Rib Charter also supplied (through their parent company Solent Rib Charter), forty Ribs for use as police boats during the London 2012 Olympics and a further 25 boats to the Police Service of Northern Ireland for the 2013 G8 summit in Northern Ireland.
