Media rights

The River Thames in central London is privately owned by the Port of London Authority (PLA). They are free to impose whatever restrictions they desire on activities that take place on the River. The PLA recognises the value of their estate and activities carried out on the River require their permission.

Filming

Filming on the River Thames (other than for personal use) requires a permit from the PLA. In our experience the PLA are reasonable and don’t seek to levy charges unless the purpose of the filming is to use imagery of their estate for commercial gain. Please talk to us if you are in doubt.

Photography

Similar restrictions to filming are putting in place by the PLA. Again please talk to us for informal guidance.

Experience

We have significant experience of film and media work on the River for a wide variety of events; please do not hesitate to contact us to tap into our expertise.
