At 215 miles (346 km), the River Thames is the longest river entirely in England. Running from it’s source at Thames Head in Gloucestershire it flows through many well known places on it’s way to the sea including Oxford, Henley-on-Thames, Windsor and of course, the City of London – before flowing into the North Sea via the Thames Estuary.

Its tidal section, which reaches up to Teddington Lock, includes most of London and is littered with world famous landmarks including Tower Bridge, The Shard, the 02, the Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London and the London Eye.

There are also many cultural landmarks along the Thames in London including Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Tate Modern, the Tate Britain, the National Theatre and the Southbank Centre.
